I suffer from ladder anxiety, especially when I'm learning a new build.
A few nights ago, the first night of the new ladder season, I played my first ladder matches in a while and went 0-3. Some were better than other, but they were all losses.
I knew something was wrong, so I decided to ask for some help from the Terrans in my clan. The advice was pretty much gold.
At some point, I will go back and discuss my very early learnings as a noob Starcraft player, but in the last 24 hours, I played successfully against a few cheesy openings and wanted to relay some learnings.
One of my first games on ladder was TvP (Terran vs Protoss, for the absolute beginner). When you first start playing ranked games, Blizzard doesn't know where to place you, so they set you up against players of various skill levels and, if you're like me, those games are blowout losses.
Allow me to introduce myself. My blizzard handle is Krakpot, and I'm a VERY recent convert to the world of RTS and Starcraft, specifically. I played some Command and Conquer and the original Starcraft when they came out, but took an almost two decade hiatus. I've only been playing Starcraft 2 for two months.
While I'm new to playing the game, I've actually been watching the SC2 E-sports scene for several years, and many of the casters of big tournaments are familiar.
